How To Overcome Fear And Mental Issues During Rahu Mahadasha

In this post, we will discuss how Rahu Mahadasha affects the Moon—that is, the mind. But before we begin, I want to remind you of something very important: if you are not working on your health, that is, your Ascendant (Lagna), then understand that achieving something truly big in life becomes very difficult.

When the Lagna becomes strong, your entire horoscope automatically begins to uplift. So first, focus on your health. Without improving it, you cannot reach major milestones. Pay attention to both your physical and mental condition—notice what is going on inside you.

Why Is the Moon Most Affected During Rahu Mahadasha?

Now let us talk about the Moon. During Rahu Mahadasha, the Moon often becomes the most afflicted planet. You may have heard the story of how Swarbhanu lost his head because of the Moon—this is why Rahu is said to have the most inimical relationship with both the Sun and the Moon.

Because of this, Rahu strongly affects the Moon, disturbing the mind. During this period, you may experience:

  • Emotional turbulence
  • Unnecessary fears
  • Anxiety and restlessness

These effects become even stronger when:

  • Rahu is placed with the Moon in your chart
  • Rahu is in Cancer
  • Rahu is in the fourth house
  • Rahu aspects the Moon

In addition, if Rahu and the Moon are within about three degrees of each other—even in different houses—the impact can still be very intense. For example, if Rahu is at 28° in any house and the Moon is around 25°–30° in another house, then Rahu is strongly influencing the Moon at the mental level.

Not Only Mahadasha—Transits Also Matter

These disturbances are not limited only to Rahu Mahadasha. Even during Rahu’s period, if transiting Rahu or Ketu passes over your Moon, or Saturn transits it, or you go through Shani Dhaiya or Sade Sati, mental unrest can increase significantly.

For instance, if Rahu Mahadasha is running and (Discussion based on 2026 planetary transit)your Moon is in Aries, Pisces, Sagittarius, Leo, or Aquarius, you may feel mentally disturbed. If your Ascendant is Sagittarius, the pressure can feel even heavier.

Those whose Moon is in Leo or Aquarius may find this phase especially sensitive, because the Moon comes onto the Rahu–Ketu axis. Aquarius natives are in the third phase of Sade Sati, while those with Moon in Leo may be under Dhaiya—so you can imagine how intense the mental strain of these people. The mind may feel extremely restless, and unknown fears may keep surfacing.

Influence of the Waxing and Waning Moon

From my own observation, I have noticed that when the Moon is in its waxing phase—moving toward the Full Moon—mental turbulence increases. Because more light falls on the Moon, its expression becomes stronger. Around the Full Moon, anxiety and emotional overload are often at their peak.

On the other hand, near the New Moon—during the waning phase—the Moon receives less light, so mental pressure may reduce slightly.

What Remedies Should Be Followed in Such Times?

If you are experiencing severe mental disturbance—whether due to Rahu Mahadasha, Rahu–Moon sub-period, or intense transits—these remedies can be helpful:

 Spiritual Remedies

Worship of fierce forms of deities like Kal Bhairav. Kal Bhairav sadhana is considered highly effective. Chant mantras under proper guidance. One of my clients once shared that during Rahu Mahadasha, Bhairav worship helped him a lot; his sleep was better, and fear was reduced drastically. When they stopped the practice, the same problems returned.

Practical Remedy

Go to the Gym, I repeat this again and again that you must go to the gym. Strength training makes you sweat and builds muscle, which strengthens Saturn and Mars in the chart. This greatly helps in handling such psychological situations.

I personally train regularly. On days when I miss my workout, I can naturally feel that my mind is more disturbed.

Women should also go to the gym; many hesitate, but it is extremely beneficial.

Spend Time Near Water. If there is a river, pond, lake, or reservoir near your home, go and sit quietly there in the evening. The coolness of water naturally calms the mind.

 Other Helpful Practices

  • Offer water to a Shiva Lingam
  • Chant “Om Namah Shivaya”
  • Regularly recite Moon mantras

Seek Therapy if Needed

If none of the remedies seem to work, quietly consult a good therapist. Instead of running from one advisor to another, it is better to speak with a trained professional. A therapist can guide you properly, and if necessary, may also prescribe medication.

The Most Important Point
